The Minister of Women Affairs Aisha Alhassan has resigned from her position and withdrawn from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alhassan made this known in two letters sent to President Muhammadu Buhariand the APC Chairman in Sarkin Dawaki Ward, Jalingo LGA of Taraba.
“Today, the 29th of September 2018, I wish to transmit to the President my decision to resign as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and withdraw my membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC),” she wrote on Twitter.

Alhassan was disqualified from contesting in the Taraba state gubernatorial primaries under the APC in what the party chairman has said was as a result of loyalty.
She had said on video last year, that she’ll support presidential aspirant and former VP Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid even if he’s running against Buhari.
Atiku dumped APC for PDP earlier this year.
