Find Out The New Stand Of Government. Will Foreigners Vote In 2019 General Elections?

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, Ekpedeme King has told foreigners in Lagos State not to vote in the forthcoming 2019  general elections.
King, who said this during a meeting with  different associations of  ECOWAS citizens in Lagos, urged the leaders to warn their people  not to participate in the elections.

Recall that there are false claims in some quarters that anybody can vote in Lagos so long as you have lived in the state reasonably and can obtain the Permanent Voter Card ( PVC). The carriers of the false claims always claimed that “Lagos is no man’s land”. So,everybody is citizen.
Speaking further, King said the warning became necessary because  Permanent Voter Cards were retrieved from some of the immigrants.
He said, “The CG,  Muhammad Babandede, has directed us to get across to you that migrants that are not Nigerians should not participate in the electoral process and today’s meeting is to interact  with you  to pass this information to your compatriots that they must not participate in the electoral process.
“They must not allow themselves to be used to vote either by inducement or any other form. And  they should not allow themselves to be used as political thugs. They must keep away from the process.”
King also urged   NIS officials  in various local government areas to conduct themselves in a  good manner during the election period.
The CG, who ordered  officers to educate  the immigrants in the local area they are supervising, said they should also be on the lookout for  PVCs among the immigrants.
He said, “We had to be reminded that we are to conduct ourselves very well before, during and after the election. You as representatives of the immigration service in the local government in the state have a very big duty to perform.”
